Beth Eggers’ Himmelsfeld Vineyard is – even by the comparatively modest scale common of Nelson wineries – tiny, and hardly a widely known name. And yet across just 3 acres Beth coaxes complex, fascinating wines from the tough clay soil, ageing them for as much as a decade before offering them for sale in tiny quantities to the informed and the discerning.

There is rather more to a visit to Himmelsfeld than wine tasting though. Beth – who greets visitors personally – likes them to leave with a sense of belonging. Highly recommended for Edenhouse guests.
