Breakfast is included in the tariff and is served in the studio or the sunny courtyard areas. Nearly all guests choose to dine at Edenhouse and fresh local produce, which bursts with freshness and flavour, is always available.
The local bountiful bays speak for themselves, with their abundant stocks of finfish, scallops, mussels and oysters. On land, meanwhile, the mild weather, fertile soils and family growers with generations of experience make for a cornucopia of local produce. Arguably the world’s best apples grow here, and equally-highly-regarded berryfruit. Organic produce is common, and delectable. It can feel more Mediterranean than southern Pacific at times – from the asparagus of early spring to the sun-ripened tomatoes, eggplants, peaches and peppers of late summer, plus olives, grapes and figs.
Fine local award-winning wines that delight the palette are included in the dinner tariff as are pre-dinner drinks and canapés. Guests are offered outstanding aged wines back to 2006, without additional charge, as part of the dining experience at Edenhouse Lodge.
Guests are offered the choice of dining in the formal dining room, the studio, or the sitting room. In addition, guests are most welcome to dine outdoors with a choice of several garden locations. There is also the option to dine alone or join other guests inside or outside.
